EXCITING CAREER DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY IN TROPICAL BRUNEI FOR SECONDARY TEACHERS

CfBT Education Services (which is part of Education Development Trust) has been working with the Brunei Darussalam government for 40 years in support of its bilingual education policy.  CfBT is committed to continuing to provide excellent quality education during the remainder of the secondary project, which is concluding in December 2026. This is a unique opportunity for secondary teachers who are committed to providing excellent education to be part of this unique and long-running ESL project for 9-16 months. We are looking for secondary English teachers to begin work in government schools in Brunei Darussalam during 2025/2026.

If you are a qualified, experienced secondary teacher of English who is looking to gain ESL/EAL teaching experience in a true international setting, and obtain an industry-trusted qualification in ESL/EAL, we are offering an exciting ‘Teach and Learn’ package which provides the following benefits:

• Generous Learning and Development grant (payable upon successful completion of probation period) of up to 1/12^th of salary to fund ESL/EAL related courses and training (e.g. the Cambridge CELTA, DELTA, TEFL certificate or diploma, or components of a Masters in TESOL).**

 To be eligible to apply you must:

1. Hold a degree from a university in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, South Africa, USA, or an EU country.
2. Hold Qualified Teacher Status/teacher accreditation (PGCE, BEd etc.) A TEFL cert with degree is not sufficient.
3. Have a minimum of 3 years relevant classroom teaching experience post qualification with at least 1 year' experience of teaching English/ESL.
4. Be able and willing to drive. Note that a driving test (manual or automatic) must be undertaken in order to obtain a Bruneian driving licence.
5. Be under 55 years old at the time of arrival in Brunei Darussalam.
